Two Lewistown women charged with possession of drugs, paraphernalia

LEWISTOWN — Two Lewistown women who were found to be acting suspiciously by Lewistown Police Department officers outside of the Geisinger School of Nursing on the 100 block of East Market Street in Lewistown were charged with possession of drugs or drug paraphernalia, according to a release issued on Friday. At 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 31, officers received a complaint about the women and located Florene Lisa Shirey, 59, and Taleea Sholly, 20, who both have extensive recent drug histories, the report said. Officers spoke with the women, and Shirey was found to possess methamphetamine and Sholly possessed hypodermic needles, a digital scale that had methamphetamine residue and baggies with drug residue, the report said. Shirey was charged with possession of a controlled substance and Sholly was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.

Downingtown man cited for evading arrest

LEWISTOWN — A Downingtown man was cited for evading arrest or detention on foot after fleeing on foot while Lewistown Police Department officers were trying to identify him at 6:59 p.m. on Oct. 31, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers responded to Puff-N-Snuff, located at 910 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, for a male playing Skills machines who was a previous theft suspect, the report said, and officers made contact with Mark J. Byrd, 63. Byrd did not have identification on him and he could not provide an address for where he is staying, the report said, and Byrd immediately repaid the store for the theft. Officers had Byrd stand in front of the store where he fled on foot behind the store, the report said, and officers apprehended Byrd.

Man charged with possession of methamphetamine,

prohibited offensive weapons

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to 22 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, after Randy L. Williams, 58, of Lewistown, called to report two people overdosing in his room at 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 1, according to a release issued on Friday. spoke with Williams who could no longer locate the two subjects who were overdosing. Williams pointed to the floor where these subjects reportedly were and officers located a used glass crack cocaine pipe, the report said. Williams appeared to be under the influence of drugs and there was no evidence other subjects were present or overdosing, the report said. Williams was asked if he had anything illegal on him. Williams produced brass knuckles from his pants pocket as well as a container of methamphetamine, the report said, and officers later located additional drug paraphernalia. Williams was charged with possession of methamphetamine, prohibited offensive weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report said.
