Police investigate alleged burglary at firehouse
MIFFLIN — On Wednesday, Oct. 22, around 6:30 p.m. Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown were notified of an alleged burglary at Mifflin Firehouse on Juniata Street.
The report states that someone allegedly trespassed and removed items from the firehouse’s main office.
Police are still investigating.
McVeytown man charged with assault
McVEYTOWN — According to a report, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown received a call on Monday, Oct. 20, about a disturbance.
Officers arrived at the scene on Old US Highway 22 around 6:30 p.m. where they determined an altercation had occurred.
An 18-year-old McVeytown man was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a 27-year-old Mount Union man.
Police investigate damage to deep freezer
McVEYTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown received a complaint from a 53-year-old McVeytown man on Tuesday, Oct. 21, around 9:30 p.m.
The complaint detailed that someone allegedly cut a wire to the man’s deep freezer causing all of the food inside to spoil.
The police report stated that the food was valued at $500 while the wire was $15 in value. Police are investigating.
No injuries sustained in dump truck crash
MILROY — According to a report, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash caused by a dump truck on Thursday, Oct. 30.
Around 6:30 a.m., police said a 2020 Mack truck was traveling on Naginey Road, Armagh Township, with its dump trailer raised.
The report stated that the dump trailer hit overhead cables that cross over Naginey Road, causing damage to the cables.
The vehicle sustained functional damage, and the truck was driven from the scene.
No injuries were reported by the driver.
McVeytown woman accused of harassment
McVEYTOWN — On Monday, Oct. 6, around 9:30 p.m., officers from Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown were dispatched to a residence on Ferguson Valley Road for a report of harassment.
When officers arrived, they received information that earlier that day Ralph Miles, 63, of McVeytown, and Rose Walker, 69, of McVeytown, had engaged in an altercation at a township meeting when Walker attempted to subject Miles to unwanted physical contact.
Officers are investigating.
