Mifflin County student charged with disorderly conduct

LEWISTOWN — A Mifflin County Middle School student was charged with disorderly conduct after admitting to writing a threat on the wall of the bathroom stall at the Lewistown school on Oct. 21, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. According to an investigation conducted by the Lewistown Police Department school resource officer, a threat was discovered in a female bathroom stall that said “Shooting Tuesday Oct 21 @ 2:50, the report said, and a school nurse was informed by a 13-year-old student about the threat. This was discovered after students were already dismissed for the day, the report said, and staff began reviewing video. The student who notified staff of the threat was observed entering and staying in the bathroom for an excessive period of time, the report said, and, on Oct. 22, several students who used the bathroom were interviewed. The student who reported this was not in school the following day, the report said, and staff reviewed handwriting and compared it to the threat. The reporting student was interviewed on Oct. 23 and provided information that contradicted statements made by other students, the report said, and when confronted with the evidence, the student admitted to writing the threat on the bathroom stall.

Derry Township man cited

for disorderly conduct

LEWISTOWN — A 64-year-old Derry Township man was cited for disorderly conduct after an incident at the First National Bank, located at 32 E. Market St., Lewistown at 2:49 p.m. on Oct. 24, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers responded to the bank after a customer, later identified as Larry W. Fink, became upset because the bank did not have a coin machine, the report said, and Fink got into a verbal altercation with other customers. Officers were unable to speak with Fink. A citation was filed to him for disorderly conduct.

Lewistown man charged with theft by unlawful taking

LEWISTOWN — Nicholas Philips, 37, of Lewistown, was charged with theft by unlawful taking after admitting to removing rip tickets without paying for them then cashing them out for $305 during a Heritage Volunteer Fire Co. raffle at 5:18 p.m. on Oct. 22, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Staff observed video from Oct. 22 of Philips, who was bartending at the time, removing the tickets without paying for them, the report said, and cashing them out at the end of the night without paying for them. Philips made admissions to the theft that were sent to staff through text messages, the report said.

Lewistown man cited

for harassment

LEWISTOWN — William K. Ohmit, 35, of Lewistown, was cited for harassment for throwing a cooler inside a residence where he struck a family member in the arm with the cooler, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Ohmit fled the residence prior to police arrival, the report said.

Maryland man charged for possession of marijuana

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were dispatched to Route 322 westbound for a vehicle disabled on the shoulder of the road at 4:33 a.m. on Oct. 27, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers met Dajuan Glen, 21, of Bowie, Md., whose vehicle had a flat tire, Glen changed it with a spare then his spare tire also went flat, the report said, and Glen’s vehicle had a strong odor of marijuana. Glen admitted to smoking marijuana several hours prior but did not show signs of impairment, the report said, and Glen was found with approximately one ounce of marijuana that he purchased in Maryland. Glen had charges filed to him for possession of a small amount of marijuana, the report said.

Burnham woman arrested and charged with criminal trespass

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to a residence on the 300 block of South Main Street in Lewistown at 6:55 a.m. on Oct. 27, according to a release issued on Friday. A neighbor reported seeing a flashlight in the vacant residence and a door was open to the residence, the report said. Officers responded and located Michele R. Davis, 53, of Burnham, inside, the report said, Davis reported she had been there for the entire night. Officers spoke with the owner of the property and Davis did not have permission to be there, the report said, and Davis was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Police investigating hit-and-run crash on North Grand Street in Lewistown

LEWISTOWN — The Lewistown Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash on the 300 block of North Grand Street in Lewistown at 10:11 a.m. on Oct. 29, according to a release issued on Friday. Police said a gray SUV struck a parked vehicle and fled northbound at a high rate of speed, the report said. Lewistown woman charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and criminal mischief

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the first block of Pannebaker Avenue in Lewistown for a report of a burglary and domestic dispute at 7:26 p.m. on Oct. 30, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers heard yelling coming from the second floor and accessed the building through an open window, the report said, and upon making contact with three people, officers learned that Amanda K. Peffer, 36, of Lewistown, had been in a relationship with a female at the residence. The female Peffer was previously involved with resided at this location with her male paramour, the report said, and Peffer showed up to confront the female and began tearing up photos while standing on the sidewalk. Peffer knew she was not permitted inside the residence and was told repeatedly by the female occupant to leave, the report said, Peffer then opened up an unlocked window and went to the second floor where Peffer assaulted the female occupant and broke her phone. Peffer also grabbed the male’s testicles and twisted them causing severe pain, the report said, and the male refused EMS but eluded that he may need to visit the hospital if the pain persisted. Peffer was found to have an active arrest warrant at the time of this incident, the report said, and Peffer was taken into custody and transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown. Peffer was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, simple assault and criminal mischief, the report said.
