Supervisors accept paving projects bid

REEDSVILLE — Brown Township moved this week on a bid from Glenn O. Hawbaker for upcoming road projects.

During the board’s meeting on Monday, it reopened bids for the road projects after rejecting three bids at its last meeting at the end of August.

The $162,774 bid covers road paving projects for Oak Street, Chestnut Street, Bills Hill, Maple Street, Lynn Avenue, Hillside Drive and Woodland Circle.

In other news, supervisors set the date for trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

Other items of discussion included:

The purchase of new pumps for the diesel and gasoline tanks;

The Pennsylvania Municipal Retirement Plan, which requires a minimum municipal obligation worksheet for the upcoming year;

The Board of Supervisors would like to have access to all bank accounts associated with Brown Township via online banking;

The procedure is to hire a third party auditor.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 for its next regularly scheduled meeting.
