Thompsontown woman faces DUI charges

MIFFLINTOWN — According to a report issued by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, a 22-year-old woman was suspected of being under the influence of drugs when her vehicle collided with a utility pole Friday, Aug. 29 around 7 a.m.

Police said Kaitlyn Haas, of Thompsontown, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze east on William Penn Highway when she exited the eastbound lane going down a small embankment, striking multiple gravestones and a utility pole before continuing in the cemetery striking more headstones. The vehicle came to final rest on its driver’s side before coming to final rest on its driver side.

Haas was reported to have sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Hospital for further evaluation. Charges for driving under the influence are pending a blood test.

Police respond to Mifflintown crash

MIFFLINTOWN — On Sunday, Aug. 31 around 5 a.m. Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash on US Highway 322 east.

Once on scene officers determined the driver of a 2006 Ford Escape, Stephanie Woodcock, was traveling eastbound when her vehicle left the roadway, striking a concrete barrier and breaking the vehicle’s axle, requiring it to be towed. Woodcock was not injured according to the report.
