Calendar

The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.

Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Bookin’ It 5K — 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 20. Race begins at the intersection of Arch Rock Road and William Penn Highway. Regular registration of $30 per participant is available through race date. Registration forms are available at any Juniata Valley Bank office or at the Juniata County Library. Benefits the Juniata County Library.

6 p.m., pick-up only Sept. 29, Decatur Fire Co. Cookhouse, Rte. 522 N., Alfarata.

• Pita Principle Seminar — 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday,

Check-in from 8:30 am to 9 a.m. Presentation at 9 a.m. Guest speaker will be Bob Orndorf, Senior Director Career Service. Guest speaker Forest Fisher will present “Spirits Among Us,” ghostly tales of Mifflin County. Menu: ham, sweet potatoes, cole slaw, green beans almondine, roll/butter, gingerbread with whipped topping. Cost is $17.50.
