Villa kicks off its inaugural senior olympics on Aug. 29
REEDSVILLE — Celebration Villa is hosting its own Senior Olympics, taking place on Friday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is sure to offer a day full of spirited fun, friendly competition and community connection.
“Senior Olympics is all about joy, movement, and making memories,” said Megan Poff, marketing director at Celebration Villa in Reedsville.
“We’ve worked hard to make the games accessible for seniors of all physical abilities. Whether you’re competing or cheering from the sidelines, there’s something for everyone.”
“We want participants to have fun, stay active, and feel a sense of accomplishment. It’s a great way to bring our seniors, staff, families, and the community together while promoting physical and mental wellness,” adds Poff.
This free event is open to individuals 65 years and older and promises a lively lineup of inclusive games and social events designed to celebrate the abilities of every senior.
Registration is required by Aug. 5, and spots are limited.
This day will bring together local seniors, organizations, volunteers, and sponsors for a full lineup of engaging and accessible activities designed for all abilities.
The schedule includes bean bag toss, puzzle relay race, trivia, Name That Tune, walking relay, Hole-in-One Golf, water games, ice cream social and closing ceremony with winners.
In addition to the games, the event will feature gift baskets, sponsor giveaways, and plenty of time to connect with peers, volunteers, and members of the greater Reedsville community.
When asked what inspired this event Poff shares that their residents love activities that are social and engaging, so they wanted to take it to the next level with an event that gives them the spotlight.
