Granville Township man arrested and jailed for pair of warrants
LEWISTOWN — A 37-year-old Granville Township was riding a bicycle on the 1,200 block of West Fourth Street in Lewistown without any lights on at 1:03 a.m. on Aug. 15 when Lewistown Police Department officers saw him and arrested him for outstanding warrants, according to a release issued on Friday. Rodney Earnest had two arrest warrants, including one out of Mifflin County and another out of Bedford County. Earnest was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Milroy man charged with assault after chasing juveniles, brandishing knife
LEWISTOWN — Nicholas M. McNeil, 24, of Milroy, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault by physical menace and disorderly conduct after an incident on South Main Street in Lewistown at 8:22 p.m. on Aug. 15, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. An officer from Granville Township Police Department was flagged down by a citizen, who reported that a male with a knife chased a juvenile on South Main Street. Granville Township and Lewistown police department officers located McNeil, who was had two knives including a switchblade knife, the report said. Officers located two juveniles at the A&R Mart on South Main Street, and they said that McNeil chased them from Fleming Avenue to the convenience store on the 500 block of South Main Street, the report said. A male related to one of the juveniles was at the convenience store and confronted McNeil telling him to leave the juveniles alone, the report said. McNeil pulled out the knife, brandishing it at the male at a close distance causing him to fear for his safety, the report said, and McNeil was transported to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.

man after assault
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers are searching for Tyler Goss-Fackender, 32, of Lewistown after he allegedly assaulted a male on the 100 block of Pannebaker Avenue in Lewistown at 1:58 a.m. on Aug. 17, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers were dispatched to a residence due to a male having several deep lacerations on his face and the shirt he was wearing was soaked in blood, the report said. The victim said he was at his girlfriend’s house several houses away sleeping on a couch when he was awoken by Goss-Fackender, who struck his face with a heavy marble ashtray, the report said. The victim chased Goss out the door and walked to his residence, the report said, and officers located a blood trail from the residence where the attack occurred to the victim’s residence. Officers spoke to a female at the residence who indicated that she told Goss about a domestic disturbance that occurred a few days prior which is believed to have caused Goss to start attacking the victim, the report said. The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of the lacerations and suspected broken facial bones, the report said, and a warrant has been issued for Goss-Fackender’s arrest on charges to include two counts of aggravated assault and simple assault.
Woman charged with possession when entering Mifflin County Courthouse
LEWISTOWN — Maelynn Ann Christoff, 28, of Lewistown, was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia as she was stopped by a metal detector while attempting to enter the Mifflin County Courthouse in Lewistown at 9:58 a.m. on Aug. 18, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers responded to the courthouse after Christoff was found with marijuana and a marijuana pipe in her possession, the report said.
Police seeking McAlisterville man
LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown Police Department officer saw Luis Ramos Lugo, 31, of McAlisterville, walking on North Pine Road at 9:22 p.m. on Aug. 18 and knew he had several warrants for his arrest, according to a release issued on Friday. These warrants included warrants for DUI offenses out of Mifflin, Juniata and Perry counties, the report said, and the officer stopped and approached Ramos who began saying he knew about the warrants and was going to take care of them tomorrow. As the officer attempted to place Ramos’ hands behind his back, he took off running, the report said, and jumped into a vehicle on North Walnut Street. The vehicle fled northbound, the report said, and officers were not able to locate him. Ramos is charged with evading arrest or detention on foot and flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment.
Lewistown man charged with criminal contempt after PFA incident
LEWISTOWN —Lewistown Police Department officers investigated an alleged Protection From Abuse violation involving Vincent E. Benveniste, 19, of Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. Benveniste has a PFA prohibiting him from having any contact with a protected person, the report said, and Benveniste left a stuffed clown and a card addressed to the protected person on the protected person’s grandmother’s vehicle which was parked on Shaw Avenue. Officers confiscated the evidence and spoke with Benveniste who said he placed the items on the grandmother’s vehicle, so it would be delivered to the individual, the report said. Benveniste was charged with indirect criminal contempt and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said.

Lewistown man after burglary
LEWISTOWN – Lewistown Police Department officers responded to 62 Logan St. in Lewistown for a reported burglary, according to a release issued on Friday. A resident alleged Isaac C. Banks, 27, of Lewistown, entered their apartment without permission, the reports said. Banks has several local warrants to include a felony burglary warrant, the report said, and officers had contact with Banks at the residence who opened the door, and upon seeing uniformed officers, fled out a window to the streets below. Banks has a history of flight and has repeatedly resisted arrest or fled from officers, the report said, and an additional felony warrant will be requested for his flight to avoid apprehension regarding this incident.
