Man cited for DUI on drugs

LEWISTOWN — According to a report, Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on a 2011 Toyota Avalon on Saturday around 2 a.m. on the 400 block of Ort Valley Road. Police said the driver, an unnamed 35-year-old Reedsville man, was under the influence of drugs.

The investigation is ongoing.

Woman cited for traffic violation

MIFFLINTOWN — On Tuesday, July 9, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop around 8 a.m. on a 2009 Chevy Malibu.

According to the report, the violation took place on Cedar Springs Road, where the driver, an unnamed 28-year-old Mifflintown woman, was operating the vehicle without an ignition interlock, a breathalyzer device that is installed in a vehicle to prevent drunk driving. Charges are pending.

Weis Markets retail theft under investigation

MIFFLINTOWN — According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, Weis Markets of Mifflintown reported a retail theft on July 24.

Upon arrival, officers met with the crime investigator of Weis Markets, who shared that this has been an ongoing occurrence with around $237.69 of retail items being stolen by an unnamed individual.

Items stolen included a two-pack of Heinz Ketchup, valued at $11.99; a Holten meats party pack, valued at $27.99; deli fried chicken, valued at $9.99; Similac baby formula, valued at over $100; cupcakes, valued at $24.07; a cake, valued at $9; Tide laundry detergent, valued at $21.69; Downey fabric softener, valued at $15.49 and an Icee 30 count, valued at $13.49. Police are investigating.
