Driver who struck deer charged

THOMPSONTOWN — On Sunday, Aug. 3, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash around 10:20 p.m. on US Highway 322 West.

According to the report the driver of a2008 Lincoln Navigator, stated that, while driving, a deer entered the roadway and they were unable to avoid a collision with the deer.

The vehicle sustained minor damages but was driven from the scene.

No injuries were reported. The driver however was charged with failing to comply with inspection laws, stated in the report.

No injuries reported in Fermanagh crash

MIFFLINTOWN — Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash around 9 a.m. on Monday.

According to the report, the unnamed driver was operating a 2020 Volvo and was attempting to make a left-hand turn at the intersection of Cleck Road and Cuba Mills Road, Fermanagh Township and was unable to complete the turn.

The driver stated they tried to back up the vehicle left the right side of the roadway and impacted a fence.

The vehicle sustained minor damages and was driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

MIFFLINTOWN — A driver was charged with driving too closely after Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Monday at around 11:20 a.m.

The report states that a 2007 Dodge Nitro was traveling east on William Penn Highway while a 2009 Ford F250 supercab was traveling behind them.

While attempting to make a left hand turn onto Nelson Road the operator of the second vehicle failed to slow down in time impacting with the rear of the Dodge Nitro.

Both sustained minor damages and were driven from the scene. No injuries were reported.

Mifflin man faces DUI charges

MIFFLINTOWN — On July 20, Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a traffic stop on the first block of Locust Grove Road, Milford Township.

According to the report officers spotted a 2002 Ford F250 Supercab around 1 a.m. whose driver appeared to be under the influence.

Officers charged Christopher Gahagan, 25, of Mifflin, with driving under the influence.
