Lewistown female, juvenile charged with retail theft at convenience store

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers charged a 19-year-old Lewistown female and a 16-year-old unidentified juvenile with retail theft after an incident at a local convenience store at 8:48 a.m. on July 25, according to a release issued on Friday. Samirah N. McGill was among the two individuals who were charged after officers reviewed surveillance of three subjects entering the Nittany MinitMart in Lewistown and saw them consume slushie fountain drinks, and took a Door Dash food order that did not belong to them, the report said. The three subjects departed the store without paying for the food items, the report said, but officers recognized two of the subjects from prior incidents. The third subject was not known, the report said.

Woman charged with possession, public drunkenness; Lewistown man jailed

LEWISTOWN — Florene Shirey, 58, of Lewistown, was charged with possession of marijuana and public drunkenness after Lewistown Police Department officers found her stumbling on the 100 block of West Third Street who appeared to be impaired at 4:51 p.m. on July 26, according to a release issued on Friday. Shirey was found to be in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia, the report said, and officers discovered she was visiting Kurtis Perschau, 48, of Lewistown, who had an active warrant with a jail commitment relating to a public drunkenness charge. Perschau was taken into custody and was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown, the report said, and officers transported Shirey to a relative’s residence.

Area man cited for defiant trespassing after McClintock Avenue incident

LEWISTOWN — A 39-year-old area man was cited for defiant trespassing at 9:26 p.m. on July 27 by the Lewistown Police Department after officers responded to McClintock Avenue and found him outside a residence trying to look in through a window on a door, according to a release issued on Friday. Travis E. Diveglia, address unknown, denied being at the subject’s residence, the report said, but the resident was able to describe the clothing Diveglia was wearing when officers contacted him.

Lewistown woman charged with firearm, drug charges after backpack found

LEWISTOWN — Tara L. Shutt, 33, of Lewistown, has been charged with firearms not to be carried without a license, persons not to possess firearms and possession of fentanyl after Lewistown Police Department officers found a backpack on the 100 block of South Walnut Street in Lewistown at 4:48 p.m. on July 28, according to a release issued on Friday. Additionally, Shutt was charged separately with accomplice liability-possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. Officers located a bag that contained packaging for fentanyl, an empty gun holster and an application that had Shutt’s name listed on it, the report said, and Shutt was involved with an incident on July 22 where her paramour, Shaune Gardner, attempted to flee from officers and was charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. Shutt was present and she fled with a backpack on when officers engaged in a foot pursuit with Gardner, the report said. Shutt had an arrest warrant on July 22 and was taken into custody a short time later where she no longer had her backpack on, the report said.

Officers recovered the backpack and LPD detectives conducted additional investigations, the report said, and officers intercepted communications where Shutt mentioned to another individual that she disposed of a firearm in a nearby garden utilizing street terminology to describe the firearm. Officers returned to the area of South Walnut Street and observed a garden behind an unoccupied residence, the report said, and officers located a bag that contained a loaded handgun, 30 glassine packets of fentanyl that had the same stamp markings as those found in Shutt’s bag, and various other drug paraphernalia. Detectives eventually went to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown where Shutt admitted to discarding the firearm and stated she obtained the firearm due to a quarrel with another area drug dealer. Shutt admitted to selling large quantities of methamphetamine along with Gardner, the report said.

Lewistown teenager cited for disorderly conduct after incident

LEWISTOWN — An 18-year-old Lewistown male was cited for disorderly conduct after Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Pannebaker Avenue for what was initially reported as a large physical fight at 7:18 p.m. on July 29, according to a release issued on Friday. Individuals at the scene stated that Izzaiah C. Wilson took his shirt off and was trying to fight someone in the area, the report said, and individuals also confirmed that a physical confrontation did not occur.

York male to be charged with aggravated harassment after spitting on officer in jail

LEWISTOWN — A 68-year-old York male will be charged with aggravated harassment by a prisoner after an incident at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown where Bradley D. Shoff spit on a correctional officer’s face when the officer was attempting to move Shoff from one cell to another, according to a release issued on Friday. LPD is waiting on video of the incident at which point Shoff will be charged, the report said.

Area man charged for active warrant after narcotics investigation

LEWISTOWN — Cory Harpster, 48, address unknown, was arrested for an active warrant with commitment after a department narcotics investigator observed Harpster on the first block of Valley Street at 4:01 p.m. on July 30, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday.

Lewistown man arrested for warrants then tries to evade police

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were conducting targeted enforcements when they observed John L. Kline Jr., 46, of Lewistown, sitting in front of his residence on Spring Street in Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. Kline had three warrants with commitment, including a domestic relations warrant, the report said. Kline fled inside his residence when officers approached him, the report said, and another individual granted officers permission to search the residence. Kline was located inside hiding underneath a bed, the report said, and Kline was charged with evading arrest.
