Officials reexamine meeting agenda
LEWISTOWN — Due to an issue with meeting minutes during last month’s Granville Township Supervisors meeting, Supervisors Monday reexamined all of the agenda items from last month.
This action included Supervisors’ conditional approval of a cell tower to be built near Lockport and Middle Road in Granville Township.
Supervisors ensured that the construction of this cell tower would help with the dead zones in the Strodes area for both residents and first responders.
During their July 8 meeting, Supervisors decided to move forward with a proposal to see if the Junction Fire House was eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for new fire equipment.
During the Supervisors’ June meeting, Carol Kearney-High of SEDA-Council of Governments discussed ways Supervisors could use CDBG funding.
A resident suggested a pool at Malta Park, but High and her team looked into this and determined it was not feasible.
The second proposal included new fire apparatuses for the Junction Fire House.
High was in attendance to share that SEDA-Council of Governments is sending out surveys to residents in the area of Junction Fire House and urging residents to return the surveys before Thursday, Aug. 14. Residents can mail the survey with the envelope provided or turn the surveys in to the Granville Township Municipal office directly.
The surveys help High’s organization to accurately determine if the area is a low to moderate-income which makes the Junction Fire House eligible to receive the CDBG funding for new equipment that was previously discussed at last month’s meeting.
Supervisors also:
• Approved July 2025 Department Reports, including the Account Summary, Road, Engineer’s, Police, Code Officer, Sewer Department, and the Overtime Report;
• Approved resolution 2025-13 Hazard Mitigation Plan, which is developed by the county, and each municipality must adopt it.
