Man accused of burglary faces additional charges

GRANVILLE — A Lewistown man who was arrested this week for burglary is now facing additional charges, police said.
John Elvin Frymyer, 56, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Craig Westover on three counts of illegal possession of a firearm, felonies to the second degree.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers from Lewistown Police Department assisted Granville Township police on Wednesday with a burglary investigation by executing a search warrant on Frymyer’s Granville Township residence.
While police were searching Frymyer’s home for items stolen from the burglary, police noted seeing a glass smoking device, commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, and two muzzle loader style rifles, with one being a bolt action style rifle. Police said they also found a Traditions Trapper 50 caliber Flintlock pistol and 50 caliber round balls, cloth patches, a flash panloader with powder and a measuring device used to measure black powder.
As a convicted felon, police said Frymyer is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Frymyer is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $25,000 bail on this set of charges and $100,000 bail on the burglary charges. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m, Aug. 20.
