Douglas Hugh Harris, 68, of Port Royal, passed away on Aug. 14, 2025 at his home in Beale Township.

Born Sept. 25, 1956 he was the son of the late Harold F. “Mart” Harris and the late Lois (Switzer) Harris. He is survived by his son, C. Adam Harris and his fiancÈ Christine Knapp, and three siblings, Bonita “Bonnie” K. Harris, H. Craig Harris and his wife, Susan, and Mark A. Harris and his wife, Kathy.

Doug graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1974 where he was a standout basketball player. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly fishing and hunting, and shortly after high school devoted much of his free time to weightlifting and working out. He was a proud father and bricklayer working for the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsman (Local #5) union out of Harrisburg. In addition to completing many masonry jobs here in Juniata County (in his easily recognizable green truck) he helped build schools, prisons and many other large construction projects all over the state of Pennsylvania.

The memorial service will be private and his ashes will be spread on the land he loved so much. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
