Beavertown man named victim of deadly crash

MIDDLEBURG — A Beavertown man was pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicle crash that took place on Monday around 5:25 p.m.

According to the report filed by Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown, Joshua Herald, 44, was driving a 2013 Honda Pilot southbound on Route 522, Franklin Township, at approximately 50-miles per hour when the vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway for about 100 feet, then struck a residence on its south side.

Police said the vehicle proceeded to rotate clockwise and came to an uncontrolled final rest in the front yard of the home facing north.

Police said Herald was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident. The report states that two individuals were witnesses to the crash and were interviewed on scene.
