Area man charged

with possession

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to Mifflin County Probation for a drug complaint at 3:28 p.m. on July 17, according to a release issued on Friday. Probation officers were driving on the 100 block of Valley Street when they observed Eric Whitehead-Bullard, 26, address unknown, the report said and Bullard had active warrants and was taken into custody by probation. During a search, probation officers located methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and non-prescribed medication in his possession, the report said and officers seized the evidence and charges were filed to Bullard for possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lewistown man charged

with aggravated assault

LEWISTOWN — A 44-year-old Lewistown man was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown after Lewistown Police Department officers investigated a reported domestic assault at 2:46 p.m. on July 17, according to a release issued on Friday. Scott McClellan was accused of striking a female, who had an eye swollen shut and had a cylindrical shaped wound on her forearm and she began vomiting. The incident took place at a residence on the 300 block of South Wayne Street, the report said, and McClellan was reportedly upset over not having any more methamphetamine. McClellan struck the female with a baseball bat and a closed fist while under the influence of methamphetamine, the report said, and he struck the female multiple times in the head and she sustained the injury to her arm when she tried to block the blows from the bat. During this assault, McClellan said he was going to stab the female, the report said. The female was transported by FAME EMS to the hospital, the report said, and she had a fracture to the side of her skull and was transported by helicopter to an advanced care facility. Officers located McClellan and he admitted that he was in an altercation with the female, the report said.

on retail theft

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers are encouraging anyone with information about a male who is a person of interest but not necessarily a suspect in a retail theft that took place at 3:02 p.m. on July 17 at the Nittany MinitMart, located at 403 E. Walnut St. in Lewistown, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers responded to the store where a white male was observed entering the store after driving to this location in a copper or rust-colored Ford Explorer, the report said. The male entered the store and removed a box containing a cell phone charging cable, the report said, and then he went into the men’s restroom and exited without the cable visible. The male purchased two drinks and left, the report said. Employees searched the restroom and located the box for the cable torn open and the cable was not located, the report said, and a surveillance image was provided. Officers are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the male, the report said.
