Lewistown man arrested for active warrant
LEWISTOWN — Harry Schiech, 42, of Lewistown, was arrested after a traffic stop on South Pine Street in Lewistown and was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown for an active arrest warrant from Juniata County relating to a previous charge of flight to avoid apprehension or trial at 2:34 p.m. on July 16, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday.
Thompsontown arrested for bench warrant
LEWISTOWN — A 38-year-old Thompsontown man was arrested for a bench warrant out of Mifflin County relating to a parole violation for a previous drug delivery arrest at 3:47 p.m. on July 16, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers observed Anthony Haubert driving a vehicle on the 400 block of East Walnut Street in Lewistown, turning onto the 322 westbound on-ramp, the report said. Haubert was stopped on the on-ramp and taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
Lewistown man arrested for warrant relating to Megan’s Law
LEWISTOWN — A 31-year-old Lewistown man was arrested for a warrant relating to not registering his vehicles under Megan’s Law at 9:19 p.m. on July 16, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Cody Lance Kinley was charged with two counts of failure to comply with registration requirements.
Originally, at 5:50 p.m. on July 9, officers heard a loud motorcycle rapidly accelerating on North Walnut Street, the report said, and
were able to get behind the motorcycle that did not have a license plate displayed. The motorcycle eventually pulled over next to 100 W. Fourth St. in Lewistown, the report said, and Kinley, a Tier III sex offender who has a lifetime registration requirement, was identified as the driver. Kinley said the vehicle was not registered because he just got it; however, officers showed him a photo of the motorcycle dated June 24, 2025, parked in front of Kinley’s residence displaying a license plate that was registered to Kinley, the report said. Kinley also admitted that a nearby truck parked in the grass was owned by him and not registered, the report said. Kinley did not have a driver’s license and there were various other vehicle code violations, the report said.
