Burnham teen faces theft charges

LEWISTOWN — A Burnham teenager was charged for theft by unlawful taking after police investigated the report of a child’s bicycle stolen from a residence on the 100 block of Pannebaker Avenue in Lewistown at 4:35 p.m. on July 11, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Police obtained surveillance video that showed a male subject, later identified as Demion Allen Grove, 18, taking the bicycle from the residence, the report said. The owner of the bike went to a residence on the 600 block of South Wayne Street and observed Grove there with the stolen bicycle, the report said. The bicycle was retrieved by the owner and Grove failed to answer the door when officers tried to speak with him, the report said.

Granville man charged with harassment

LEWISTOWN — Brady James Matthews, 34, of Granville Township, will be charged with aggravated harassment by prisoner, a felony of the third degree, upon receipt of the video evidence, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. At 7:22 p.m. on July 13, officers responded to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown for the report of an assault as Matthews allegedly spit on another inmate three times, the release said.

Lewistown man cited for public drunkenness

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the 100 block of Valley Street in Lewistown at 7:51 p.m. on July 14 for a report for a complaint of an intoxicated male stumbling into traffic holding an open can of beer, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers located Tate Young, 29, was taken to the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown after a responsible person could not be located to take custody of him. Young was also cited for public drunkenness.

Police use drone to locate elderly man from Derry Twp.

LEWISTOWN — Using drone technology, the Lewistown Police Department assisted the Mifflin County Regional Police Department in locating an unidentified elderly resident with dementia who wandered from a residence in Derry Township at 10:53 p.m. on July 14, according to a release issued on Friday. The individual was eventually located at the Geisinger School of Nursing, off East Market Street in Lewistown, and was transported back to their residence, the report said.

Area man cited for harassment

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers received a harassment complaint from a McClintick Avenue, Lewistown, resident, who received repeated calls from Travis Diveglia, 39, of Lewistown, at 7:34 a.m. on July 16, according to a release issued on Friday. Diveglia was calling the subject, who had a no-contact order against him, while officers were there and officers spoke to him, the report said, and Diveglia reported to officers that he was contacting the complainant because he saw several subjects with ski masks behind the complainant’s residence the night before. Diveglia admitted he made no attempt to call the police, the report said, and he was cited for harassment.

Derry Township man arrested for two bench warrants

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers assisted the Mifflin County Regional Police who were attempting a warrant service at a residence of Fernwood Drive in Derry Township at 2:03 p.m. on July 16, according to a release issued on Friday. Aaron Vaughn Lauver, 38, of Derry Township, had two bench warrants out of Mifflin County. Lauver, who was not at the residence, was eventually located at a residence on Pannebaker Avenue, the report said. Officers observed Lauver departing the area as a passenger in a vehicle and conducted a stop at the Nittany MinitMart, located at 403 E. Walnut St. in Lewistown, the report said., Lauver was taken into custody and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility in Lewistown.
