Planners recommend zoning ordinance changes

LEWISTOWN — Derry Township will move forward with amending its Zoning Ordinance to provide regulations for solar energy systems, including battery energy storage systems.

Mifflin County Planning Director James Lettiere offered the township’s Board of Supervisors direction moving forward during the Planning Commission’s regular meeting held Thursday.

Supervisors will consider adopting the ordinance during the board’s meeting at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18.
