Traffic pattern on Route 22 bridge replacement changes Wednesday
CLEARFIELD — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that it plans to change the traffic pattern at the site of a bridge replacement project impacting two structures along Route 22 in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, starting Wednesday, July 30. This project will improve the condition rating of the bridges.
On Wednesday, the contractor will reopen a pair of bridges; one near Smith Lane and the other near Rhone Road. It will also close the temporary roads installed this spring and direct traffic back onto Route 22. The temporary signals that have been active since spring will also be deactivated.
While the road will be open to traffic, PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution and expect to encounter flaggers in the roadway providing traffic control. PennDOT urges drivers to exercise caution in all work zones.
PennDOT anticipates completion in August.
