Get a taste of ‘lake life’ at upcoming Fayette Carnival

MCALISTERVILLE — With the hustle and bustle of today’s world, sometimes it’s just good to get away and enjoy the tranquility of the lake. Whether it’s fishing, swimming or boating, you’ll usually find folks without care in the world — at least for a few hours or days.

Which is why “Lake Life” is the theme for this year’s Fayette Community Carnival to be held at Lost Creek Community Park in McAlisterville. The carnival opens on Tuesday, July 29, and runs through Saturday, Aug. 2.

Organizers want fairgoers to come and enjoy themselves, forgetting about all of the stresses and struggles for the time being.

“As long as the weather is nice,” said Tammy Brackbill, one of the carnival’s organizers, of the turnout. “We want to thank the community for their support.”

Proceeds from the carnival benefit the Fayette Fire Co., Fayette Lions Club and Fayette Township Community Building Association.
