Alex Warren moves listeners with heartfelt songs
If you haven’t heard of him yet, Alexander Warren Hughes, known as Alex Warren, is a 24-year-old singer, songwriter, influencer, and YouTuber who grew up in Carlsbad, Calif.
He first gained fame for his relatable YouTube challenges and vlogs; Warren has 3.37 million subscribers on YouTube and 18 million on TikTok.
He gained his following through the Hype House, a collaborative TikTok group, and has since built a large following on both YouTube and TikTok.
From 2019 to 2022, he was a founding member of the TikTok group Hype House.
Warren transitioned into a music career, releasing several singles and an album, and has spoken openly about his struggles with grief and loss after the deaths of his parents.
He has also spoken about his difficult upbringing, including being kicked out of his house at 17 and experiencing homelessness.
In 2021, he began releasing music independently, and by the next year, he was signed with Atlantic Records.
Warren released his first album on July 18, 2025, titled “You’ll Be Alright, Kid.”
One of his songs, “Ordinary” sat at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for seven non-consecutive weeks and topped the Billboard Global 200 for ten weeks, becoming the longest-running number one song on the UK Singles Chart of the 2020s as well as the longest-running uninterrupted number one song on the UK Singles Chart by an American male artist.
A few of his other favorites amongst listeners include “Burning Down” the seventh single from his Sept. 20, 2024, debut album, “You’ll Be Alright, Kid.”
The song became Warren’s first entry on the Billboard Hot 100 as it debuted at number 76 on the charts.
“Bloodline” is a song collaboration with country artist Jelly Roll, exploring generational trauma.
Released on May 22, 2025, as the second single from Warren’s album.
The song reached the top 10 in three countries, including Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
While some listeners find it relatable and moving, others find it to be generic and overly dramatic.
I think Warren is starting off his music career rather effortlessly and while some songs are quite similar in my opinion, some songs such as “Ordinary” and “Burning House” are on repeat in my home.
Epic sad guy music isn’t usually the genre of music I like, but when music is able to move you it goes to the top of the favorites list.
You can listen to Warren’s new album on all major streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and SoundCloud.
