LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown Dialysis Center nurse was honored with an international award by the DAISY Foundation for extraordinary work.
Briana Bailor was one of 56 DaVita nephrology nurses honored.
The award was first given by the family of Patrick Barnes in 1999 to express gratitude for the care he received during his final days; today, nominations come from patients, families and colleagues.
Each DaVita DAISY recipient answered a unique call to be a nephrology nurse — a vocation that requires specialized training to provide life-sustaining care, including dialysis, to people managing
their kidney health.
“The empathy and compassion that nurses bring to their interactions with patients and their loved ones is a foundational part of healthcare,” said Tina Livaudais, chief nursing officer for DaVita. “Nurses are at the heart of the care we provide at DaVita, and our DAISY recipients lead with these qualities, helping to deliver on DaVita’s mission as a provider of choice through their unwavering dedication to clinical excellence.”
