Utility outages in New Lancaster Valley
New Lancaster Valley — Due to extensive damages and the need for debris removal in the area of New Lancaster Valley, residents in the valley may have extended utility outages including power, telephone, internet and cable service.
During this period of extended communications outage, the New Lancaster Valley Fire Company will have members staffing their fire station at 3712 New Lancaster Valley Rd., Milroy who will be able to contact the Mifflin County 911 Center for any emergencies.
Local utility providers continue to complete render safe activities for downed utility lines and clear debris in order to begin restoration services. Due to the large amount of damage from fallen trees and utility poles, residents could see an additional two to three days or power and utility outages.
There were approximately 1,600 residents without power Wednesday, April 30. As of 8 a.m. May 1, that number was down to less than 300.
