Hower leads as Juniata treasurer candidate
MIFFLINTOWN — Laurie S. Hower took the lead in the race for Juniata County Treasurer running unopposed as the Republican candidate, receiving 2,226 votes of the 2,239 ballots cast. There were no Democrat candidates, only 61 write-ins.
Each township in Juniata County elected a township tax collector, the results are as follows:
There were no candidates for Beale Township tax collector, only 32 write-ins on the Republican ticket and eight write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
Nancy E. Diem ran unopposed for Delaware Township tax collector, receiving 140 votes on the Republican ticket; there were six Democrat write-ins;
Beverly E. Richmond collected 331 votes as the Republican candidate for Fayette Township tax collector; there was no Democrat candidate, only 13 write-ins;
Carol L. Walters was the only candidate for Fermanagh Township tax collector receiving 367 Republican votes; there were 10 write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
Teresa A. Hoffman ran unopposed for the Greenwood tTownship tax collector seat, receiving 65 votes on the Republican ticket; there were five write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
There were no candidates for Lack Township tax collector; the Republican ticket had 10 write-ins and the Democrat ticket had eight write-ins;
Mariah Huff received 17 votes on the Republican ticket for Mifflin Borough tax collector; there were no Democrat candidates or write-ins.
In the race for Mifflintown Borough tax collector, Democrat, Vicki Shellenberger ran unopposed receiving 23 votes; there were 17 write-ins on the Republican ticket;
There were no listed candidates running for Milford Township tax collector, however there were 16 write-ins on the Republican ticket and 13 on the Democrat ticket;
In Monroe Township, Michelle Ebright won the Republican vote with 146 votes; there were seven write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
Megan F. Miller ran unopposed for Port Royal Borough tax collector; Miller received 70 votes on the Republican ticket; there were nine write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
In Spruce Hill Township, Patrick K, Stong received 94 Republican votes; there were two write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
Holly M. Flowers ran unopposed for Susquehanna tax collector, receiving 137 votes; there were three write-ins on the democrat ticket;
In Thompsontown Borough, there were no candidates running for tax collector; the Republican ticket had 11 write-ins while the Democrat ticket included one write-in;
Martha J. Stouffer took the ran unopposed for Turbett Township tax collector, receiving 85 votes; there were two write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
Joe Parson was the Republican candidate for Tuscarora Township tax collector, with 90 votes; he ran unopposed, there were 15 write-ins on the Democrat ticket;
In Walker Township, Republican Shirley K. Hostler ran unopposed for tax collector, she received 330 votes; there were 13 write-ins on the Democrat ticket.
