Mifflin County Regional Police Department releases October statistics
LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County Regional Police Department completed 430 incident reports during October. Of those reports, regional police officers investigated 26 incidents of burglary, theft or fraud, two assaults and 29 motor vehicle accidents. Regional officers also issued 33 traffic citations and nine non-traffic citations. Additionally, regional officers made five arrests for driving while under the influence. Regional police serves Burnham Borough and Brown, Derry and Union townships.
Lewistown man charged
with simple assault
LEWISTOWN — Dyllan M. Robinson, 20, of Lewistown, was charged with simple assault by physical menace by the Lewistown Police Department after an incident at 215 Bratton Ave., Lewistown, at 11:32 a.m. on Nov. 9, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers were dispatched for a report of a person threatening others with a knife, police said. The report said Robinson had an argument with a sibling regarding a television and brandished a knife during the altercation. Police said he was taken into custody without incident for the domestic violence-related offense.
Derry Township man charged with making threats, simple assault
LEWISTOWN — Odell Brown, 61, of Derry Township, is facing charges of making terroristic threats and simple assault by physical menace, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. At 3:20 p.m. on Nov. 9, Officers investigated a complaint that Brown was in the area of 14 Valley St. and confronted several individuals, police said. The report said he threatened to assault a female and also break the windows in a car after she fled inside a vehicle to avoid a confrontation.
Police charge man with public
drunkenness, possession
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the Sunoco, 221 S. Main St., Lewistown, for a report of an intoxicated person showing off drugs and drug paraphernalia at 9:53 p.m. on Nov. 9, according to a release issued on Friday. The report said officers found Alexander Marquez, 48, of New York, N.Y., to be highly intoxicated from alcohol. Marquez was irate and began shouting obscenities, police said, and eventually he was taken into custody for public drunkenness. During a search, police said they found Marquez to be in possession of cocaine. The report said Marquez was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility and charged were submitted for drug possession and public drunkenness.
Granville man lodged in Mifflin County
Correctional Facility on probation detainer
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers responded to the Laundry Room, 205 S. Dorcas St., Lewistown, at 10:13 p.m. on Nov. 9, where they found John E. Frymyer Jr., 55, of Granville Township, trying to pry open a vending machine with a screwdriver, according to a release issued on Friday. A witness reported that Frymyer had been trying to access the bill changer and officers found damage in that area as well, the report said. The vending machine was valued at $3,000, police said. Frymyer was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility on a probation detainer with charges filed at a later time after an estimate of damages was received.
Derry Township man arrested
for warrant at traffic stop
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop at the Nittany Minit Mart, 403 E. Walnut St., Lewistown, at 10:57 a.m. on Nov. 11, and discovered passenger Charles Fry, 47, of Derry Township, had an active arrest warrant for domestic relations, according to a release issued on Friday. Fry was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility, the report said.
Thompsontown woman charged with
possession of drug paraphernalia
LEWISTOWN — Erica Alters, 44, of Thompsontown, was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia when Lewistown Police Department officers stopped the vehicle she was traveling in for an expired registration at 1:47 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers were alerted to the expired registration on a truck on the 300 block of South Dorcas Street, Lewistown, by a license plate reader, police said. The driver, who was not identified was cited for driving under suspension, the report said. During the investigation, officers located hypodermic needles in the glove box which occupants claimed belonged to Alters, police said.
Driver flees scene after two-vehicle crash
LEWISTOWN — A driver involved in a two-vehicle accident in the area of West Fourth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue fled the scene after his black SUV was struck by a silver Toyota at 5:39 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to a release issued by the Lewistown Police Department on Friday. Officers responded to the reportable crash but were unable to locate the driver or the vehicle, police said. The report said the silver Toyota was towed due to the extent of the damage.
Lewistown woman arrested for warrant
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers were patrolling the area of Logan and South Pine streets, Lewistown, when they noticed a female passenger in a vehicle attempt to hide her face when passing the uniformed officer at 10:52 a.m. on Nov. 12, according to a release issued on Friday. Officers checked the registration of the vehicle, which came back to Jessica Walker, 40, of Lewistown. She had an active summary warrant, police said, and officers stopped the vehicle and confirmed the passenger was Walker who was taken into custody for the warrant. During the stop, the report said the driver was identified as Deyson Pozzuto, 27, of Lewistown. Pozzuto had an active bench warrant for domestic relations, was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.
Lewistown man jailed for
simple assault, disorderly conduct
LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Police Department officers investigated a domestic dispute that occurred at 126 Pannebaker Ave., Lewistown, at 6:21 p.m. on Nov. 14, according to a release issued on Friday. Anthony J. Mitchell, 30, of Lewistown, was involved in an altercation with a female and caused injury to her wrist and hand, the report said. Mitchell was taken into custody for simple assault, police said. During his arrest, police said he was screaming and yelling before being secured in a patrol car. The report said he failed to stop yelling after being told several times to stop and was eventually charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct. The report said Mitchell was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
