Stokely held on $500K cash bail

From staff reports

LEWISTOWN — A Fredericksburg, Virginia man was jailed Friday after police said he sold drugs to a confidential informant.

Timothy Tavon Stokely, 28, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kent Smith two counts of manufacturing with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Stokely is being held in Mifflin County Correctional Facility, unable to post $500,000 cash bail.

According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, at about 2:30 p.m. Friday, officers with the Lewistown Police Department set up a controlled drug buy, utilizing a confidential informant to purchase crack cocaine from Stokely, who was staying at 20 Valley Street.

Later that day, police obtained a search warrant for the address and Stokely was taken into custody. The report says seven small knotted bags of a white rock-like substance consistent with crack cocaine was found. Police said Stokely also had a large amount of cash on his person, and he was smoking a marijuana joint at the time of his arrest.

A search of the apartment also found an additional large sum of cash, two digital scales, marijuana and a large amount of Ziploc bags.

Stokely is awaiting a preliminary hearing set for 9 a.m. March 27.
