State police investigating possible
physical assault of teenager
MIFFLINTOWN -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating claims that a 15-year-old female from Warriors Mark Township, Huntingdon County, was the victim of a physical assault that occurred in Tuscarora Township, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. Police said they received a report that the incident took place between Jan. 1, 2022 and Oct. 31, 2022 on Thompson Hollow Lane.
Alleged stolen dog returned to owner
MOUNT UNION -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown received a call at 5:04 p.m. Sept. 5 about the theft of a dog at 320 State St., Kistler Borough, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. Police said the alleged stolen dog was a mixed breed valued at $350. The report said the victim was a 32-year-old female from Mount Union. During the investigation, it was discovered that the dog was returned to its owner prior to police arriving, the report said. Police are continuing to investigate.
Checkpoint reveals driver has
marijuana in vehicle
MCVEYTOWN -- An unidentified 26-year-old McVeytown man was found to have marijuana in his 2015 Chevrolet vehicle after Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown conducted a search at DUI checkpoint at 1:07 a.m. on Aug. 26, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. The checkpoint was located along Route 522 South in Oliver Township, the report said. Police are continuing to investigate.
Unknown males steal gift cards
PORT ROYAL -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown are investigating the theft of two gift cards by two unknown males from the Family Dollar store in Port Royal, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. At 10:42 a.m. on Sept. 21, the report said the unknown males entered the store and one selected a $500 Apple gift card and a $450 Gamestop gift card. Police filed this account: The male took the cards to the register and asked the cashier to ring them up. He placed a debit card near the card reader but never inserted it. The other male distracted the cashier, so the first individual could press the cash payment button on the register and process the transaction. When the cashier returned, they believed the transaction had been completed using the debit card. The two males then left the store with the gift cards. The investigation continues. Driver flees after one-vehicle accident
EAST WATERFORD -- Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown found an abandoned 2008 Ford Focus on Kirk Ridge Road in Lack Township after the driver fled the scene after a one-vehicle accident, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. At 9:12 a.m. on Sept. 21, the report said troopers found the vehicle had left the westbound roadway for unknown reasons and struck a ditch. Police said the vehicle was disabled after sustaining minor damage. The investigation continues.
