LEWISTOWN — Want to let freedom ring this Fourth of July holiday? Join in the festivities starting Saturday with the Chamber Independence Day Fireworks Display and Lewistown Community Band Let Freedom Ring Concert.

The band will perform in front of the Embassy Theatre, located at 6 S. Main St., in downtown Lewistown, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will follow from 9:30 to 10 p.m.

The fireworks will be conveniently launched from the field adjacent to the Mifflin County Industrial Development Plaza, just across the river bridge in Lewistown. This location provides optimal viewing opportunities for residents.

The Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce would like to offer a big thank you to all the generous businesses, organizations and individuals who helped them reach their goal of $19,500 for this year’s Chamber Independence Day Fireworks Display.

“Even though the cost went up for this year’s event, our community once again came through,” said Rhonda Kelley, executive director of the chamber.

The rain date for the band concert is 7 p.m. Sunday, July 2, while the rain date for the fireworks is 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8.

Check out Saturday’s edition of The Sentinel to see this year’s sponsors of $100 and over. “Be sure to show your appreciation to

those who donated to make this event possible and be sure to patronize their businesses,” Kelley said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
