Borough to begin leaf collection

LEWISTOWN — Lewistown Borough will begin fall leaf collection services on Monday and will continue until Dec. 5.

After this date, residents may bring their leaves to the borough warehouse facility at 249 Washington Ave. at no charge from 6 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Collection will be performed Monday through Friday on the next working day following your refuse collection day.

Residents who need to dispose of leaves should place them at the curb in a plastic trash bag prior to 6 a.m. on the pickup day. Borough refuse tags are not required.

Leaves are not permitted to be raked loose into the street.

Residents are reminded to not mix refuse, grass clippings, yard waste or any other materials with the leaves or they will be rejected. Residents are also not permitted to place leaves with normal refuse.

Geisinger offers final drive-through, walk-in flu shot event

LEWISTOWN — Geisinger is hosting its final Super Saturday flu vaccine event for the year Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Geisinger Lewistown, 21 Geisinger Lane. It is open to those age 3 and older.

Walk-in flu shots for patients ages 6 months and older will also be available at Geisinger Pediatrics locations, including Lewistown.

Remember to wear a mask and loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the upper arm. For more information on fighting flu this season, visit geisinger.org/flu.
