LEWISTOWN–Geisinger honored 184 employees on May 17 at the annual Western Region Service Awards, held at the Brookmere Winery’s Outdoor Pavilion in Belleville. Employees were recognized for five to 45 years of dedication and service.

“I am thankful for this recognition,” said Susan Boozel, medical information clerk, who received an award for 45 years of service. “I will continue to care for those in need.”

Since Lewistown Hospital became a member of the Geisinger family in 2013, Geisinger Lewistown Hospital has continued to honor employees who were in service since the days of Lewistown Hospital. In addition, Geisinger has introduced and expanded many services and programs within the community.

Services such as women’s health, cardiology, hematology/oncology and interventional pain medicine were moved to the hospital campus for patient convenience. Renovations were done to the emergency department, imaging, cardiology, hematology/oncology, and interventional pain medicine. The hospital’s Caresite pharmacy is currently being upgraded to serve the community better.
