Greetings to all on this cold, frosty morning. The second morning with frost, bringing an end to flowers and more. A nice day for wedding preparation days, one here in the valley at Israel and Naomi Swarey’s and one at cousin John and Mary Kanagy’s in Jackson, Ohio. A travel bus was to start for that one this evening for the wedding tomorrow. A six- or seven-hour drive.
Wednesday the 14th, a busload went to the same area for a wedding at cousins Stephen and Katie Kanagy’s for their daughter Sylvia and Samuel, son of Daniel and Mary Peachey. I went along with that bus in the daytime; then another bus started in the evening from here.
I had another bed-and-breakfast at Korie and Esther Wengerds’ along with Bennie and Lizzie. Then to the wedding the next day, meeting friends and relatives. An enjoyable day and home again early Friday morning. Thankful for a safe trip. Elmers were here with Mother. Omar and Gertie stayed in Ohio for the next wedding as it’s a grandson of theirs. Wheelchair patient Kore Hostetler also stayed yesterday. Our Sunday callers were Jonas and Sally, Rachel and Fannie Swarey, John and Lena Swarey, Eli and Nancy Yoder and three girls. In the evening, Sylvia Swarey was here a while.
Henry Summy passed away Thursday evening the 15th. The funeral was on Sunday afternoon at Elmer and Rhoda Peachey’s. A grandson and his wife, Mattie, will receive mail at 83 Water Street, Allensville, PA 17002. Roman and Salina Peachey have the same address.
Isaac and Martha Swarey’s address is 191 West Main Street, Allensville, PA 17002. Louie and Nancy Peachey’s address is 10 Hidden Lane, Belleville, PA 17004. The three are all daughters of Henry and Mattie. Baby news: a daughter, Mollie, to Bennie and Rebecca Peachey, joining two brothers and two sisters. Grandparents are Samuel and Nancy Peachey and Samuel and Linda Swarey. Great-grandparents are Josiah and Annie Peachey. A son, Marrin, the 10th, of Daniel and Susan Peachey. Grands are David R. and Katie Peachey and Levi and Emma Swarey. Great-grandparents are Dan R. Peachey, Samuel Kanagys, Mrs. Nancy Swarey and Beth Sheba Wengerd. A daughter, Elsie, is the 11th child of Aaron and Mollie Swarey, joining two brothers and five sisters. Grandparents are Jonas and Sally Peachey, and my mother Mollie is a great-grandmother. Baby dear is a special need and has Swarey Syndrome. Their oldest son, Nathan, 16, needed surgery recently on an injured knee to repair it. They would enjoy mail at 12770 Dachenbach Lane, Mill Creek, PA 17060.
Published to marry on the 27th are Rudy Lee Yoder, son of Daniel and Barbara, with Nannie Kanagy, daughter of Levi and Katie. On the 29th is the wedding of Monroe Peachey, son of Omar and Malinda, with Sadie Yoder, daughter of Noah and Barbara.
