MCIDC highlights regional growth at industrial development forum
STATE COLLEGE — The Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation partnered with Focus Central Pennsylvania to host the 2026 Industrial Development Forum, drawing a sold-out crowd of more than 280 attendees.
The event, held March 11 at the Nittany Lion Inn, brought together developers, site consultants, manufacturers and local leaders to highlight economic investment across central Pennsylvania.
Focus Central Pennsylvania is a nonprofit organization that works to attract corporate investment and job opportunities to a seven-county region that includes Mifflin, Centre, Snyder, Union, Northumberland, Montour and Columbia counties.
MCIDC President and CEO Nick Felice, who also serves as chair of Focus’ board, said the forum plays a key role in regional economic development efforts.
“Focus is an integral part of our overall economic development marketing strategy,” Felice said. “The forum showcases how the region is a solid destination for manufacturing enterprises while providing networking opportunities for stakeholders to make connections that lead to smart growth and expansion.”
Felice said this year’s event focused on the role of artificial intelligence in manufacturing and industrial development.
Carolyn Donaldson, a regional television news anchor, served as emcee.
“It was an opportunity for me to learn more about all of the great economic development work happening here in Central PA,” Donaldson said. “Our region has a solid reputation for collaboration and growth.”
Focus Executive Director Lauren Bryson said the organization works to connect businesses with opportunities in the region.
“Our mission is to attract quality investment and career opportunities to Central Pennsylvania,” Bryson said. “We provide our partners with the resources and support needed to remain competitive and attract companies looking to expand.”
Bryson said the forum highlights those efforts while also fostering connections among stakeholders and potential investors.
