Virginia B. “Sis” Colyer, 89, of McAlisterville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 at Richfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born on July 24, 1936 in Thompsontown, Juniata County, she is a daughter of the late John E. Zeigler and Isabella (McNaughton) Zeigler. On April 24, 1954, she married her late husband, John W. Colyer Sr., with whom she was blessed to share over 32 years of marriage before his passing on Aug. 16, 1986. She is survived by her children, Lisa G. Eva J. (Smith) Romig, 83 of McAlisterville, entered into the rest of her Savior at 10:45 p.m. Dec. 26, 2025, in Carlisle UPMC following an illness of several months. Born in Tyrone, Pa., Jan. 21, 1942, Eva spent her school years in Spruce Hill Township along Mountain Road. Eva was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Vernon, her parents, and nine sisters. After graduating from Juniata Joint High School in 1959, Eva was employed at Kinney Shoes in Beaver Springs. Later she cleaned homes in Fayette Township for many people who became fast friends.
