The following are the recollections of Ron Swanger, of Lewistown, about his uncle, John Kenneth "Ken" Swanger:My uncle, Ken Swanger, was shot in the neck during World War II in Japan and survived.Ken never talked about it, but suffered a gunshot to the neck during the war. The bullet passed his throat and out the other side of his face. He was in the hospital for a couple days, then left and recovered. Students build device to help save lives

UNIVERSITY PARK - Senior biological engineering students at Penn State University have created a device designed to help save farmers' lives, according to a news release from the College of Ag Sciences.The Penn State Grain Entrapment Simulator, which was demonstrated on campus, is a section of a grain bin mounted on a trailer and is being used to show the danger of grain-flow accidents in farm structures.
