Jam session to be held in Milroy

MILROY - A 50s open jam will be held from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 26 at Milroy Senior Center.The following musicians are scheduled to play:?Bill Bittner, Don Yantz, Charlie Arntz and others, as well as a special appearance by "Lavern and Shirley."A food booth will have hot dogs, sauerkraut, vegetable soup, barbecue, desserts, soda and more.Proceeds benefit the senior center.

Fair seeks contestants for title of ‘queen’

MIFFLINTOWN - Molly Caroline Arnold, of Mifflintown, knows her year-long reign as Juniata County Fair Queen and State Fair Queen Contest first alternate is drawing to a close.Arnold is 20 years old and attends Lancaster Bible College. She has represented the Juniata County Fair over the past year making public appearances in local parades, reading to children at Head Start, sharing her experience through public speaking and visiting nursing homes.
