SUNBURY -- United Plate Glass President Nate Lawrence recently marked 10 years with the company, a decade that has included an expansion of the company's workforce, facilities and commercial operations.
Lawrence joined United Plate Glass 10 years ago and now co-owns the company with CEO Dave Zartman.
According to Zartman, the company's annual revenue has increased tenfold during that period, while its workforce has roughly quadrupled to 36 employees.
The growth also prompted the company to expand beyond its Sunbury location.
By 2022, Zartman and Lawrence determined the existing facility no longer had enough space for the company's operations.
"We got to the point where there was no longer space to do anything," Zartman said.
The company subsequently purchased a former steel manufacturing property in Shenandoah, which now serves as its fabrication center for larger commercial projects.
United Plate Glass has also added equipment over the past decade, including a cutting table, edger and CNC machinery, along with additional work vehicles.
The company currently handles commercial projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and residential work across Pennsylvania.
Lawrence was recognized for his 10-year anniversary during a recent company meeting. He credited employees with the company's expansion.
"I don't do it, you guys do," Lawrence said. "It's every one of you in this room. It's a team effort."
United Plate Glass also received North American Contractor Certification for Architectural Glass and Metal Contractors earlier this year. The company was recently named a COMPASS by Bespoke Metrics SELECT Top Subcontractor and this summer became a partner of Penn State Athletics.
