LEWISTOWN -- Mifflin County School District's Board of Directors spoke about the post-election staff turnover for the Board during their regular voting meeting Thursday evening.
Mifflin County School District Superintendent Vance Varner thanked Michael Mowery and Mary Lou Sigler for their service on the school board. Mowery and Sigler will depart from the board in December.
Varner recognized that Mowery served the board for 1.5 years and Sigler served the board for 12 years.
Also, Varner welcomed newly elected board members Paula Dickson and Zeb Harshbarger; each member will serve the board for a four-year term beginning in December.
The board is in the process of scheduling a meeting for Dickson and Harshbarger's orientation.
Varner then congratulated Fredrick Nickel, E. Terry Styers. and Noah Wise for winning reelection.
Also during the meeting, Alaina Sharp, a grade 12 student at MCSD, received recognition as the school board's new student representative. Eleventh-grade MCSD student Natalie Bickert is her alternate.
The board will reassemble Thursday, Dec. 7, for a special reorganization and committee-of-the-whole meeting.
