Apple Festival returning to Reedsville
REEDSVILLE — In celebration of the beauty of autumn and delicious local apples, the third annual Apple Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 at Brown’s Mill Square on Main Street in Reedsville.
Reedsville Community Association volunteers will cook apple butter in old fashioned kettles, and sell homemade bread and moon pies. Belleville Mennonite School will sell homemade apple dumplings; Mountain View Chapel, soup; Ferguson Valley Farms will grill fresh-made apple brats, hot sausage and chicken, plus meat to go. Revival Kitchen will feature a savory apple treat, and Peachey’s Soft Serve Ice Cream will add a caramel apple sundae to their menu.
Kids can bob for apples, make apple prints, play the Johnny Appleseed toss game and more, under the supervision of Shining Stars Clubhouse.
Visitors to the event may purchase local apples and cider, browse the crafts of Dorothy’s Quilts & More, Houser’s Hometown Metal Creations, Kishacoquillas Valley Soap Co., Big Valley Wood Products engraved gifts and more, and Salem United Methodist Church will offer homemade condiments, wreaths and jewelry.
Parking is available in the municipal lot next to Gib’s Service Center, Bender Park and on side streets.
