Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown

¯Animal complaint–Lewistown police investigated an animal complaint that was reported at approximately 9 a.m. on Oct. 7 on Pannebaker Ave. in Lewistown.

According to the report, a dog was observed running loose and being aggressive in the area. Investigation revealed that Ashley Sechrist, 28, of Lewistown, was the owner of the dog. Sechrist was later issued a non-traffic citation for violating a borough ordinance that prohibits animals from entering the land or property of others.

¯Sexual assault/corruption of minors–One woman was charged for sexual assault following an incident that was reported on Aug. 16 on South Wayne St. in Lewistown, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Teralyn Nicole Foltz, 20, of Lewistown, was accused of having a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old male. She was later charged and arraigned at District Court. Bail was set at $50,000 and Foltz was lodged in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility.

¯DUI crash–One man was charged following a DUI crash that occurred at approximately 12:58 p.m. on Sept. 16 on Oakland Road in Fayette Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, an 18-year-old male, of McAlisterville, was traveling south on Oakland Road at an unsafe speed when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and roll. The suspect sustained minor injuries and his vehicle was towed from the scene. The male was suspected to be driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the crash.

¯Harassment–Two people were charged for harassment following an incident that occurred at

approximately 2:22 a.m. on Sept. 18 in Decatur Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, a 26-year-old female and a 27-year-old male, both of McClure, were involved in a verbal altercation which resulted in both actors shoving one another. Charges were later filed through District Court.

¯PFA violation/harassment–One man was charged for violating a protection from abuse order following an incident that occurred on Sept. 19 on Cocolamus Creek Road in Greenwood Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 47-year-old male, of Richfield, sent 21 messages to a 36-year-old female, of Millerstown, in violation of a court order. Charges were later filed for the violation and harassment.

¯Harassment–PSP Lewistown investigated an incident of harassment that occurred sometime between Sept. 25 and Sept. 28 on Washington Ave. in Mifflintown, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 24-year-old male reported receiving threatening phone messages from an unnamed suspect.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Sept. 26 on Route 235 in Delaware Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado drifted backwards from a private driveway and later overturned, spilling pumpkins over the northbound lane of travel and causing another crash.

¯Theft–PSP Lewistown is investigating an incident of theft that occurred sometime between Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 on Oakhurst Lane in Thompsontown, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 63-year-old female purchased $500 of Google Play gift cards in exchange for what she assumed was a valid loan. The loan was later found to be fake.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 9:24 p.m. on Sept. 28 on Route 35 in Lack Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Charles E. Leahy, 35, of Honey Grove, was traveling in a 1992 Ford F150 when a deer ran out into the roadway. Leahy reportedly swerved his vehicle to avoid hitting the deer and instead struck a utility pole. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway, where it came to final rest. No injuries were reported.

¯Found property–PSP Lewistown found a wallet at the top of Seven Mountains at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 29. The owner of the wallet can contact PSP Lewistown to claim it.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Sept. 29 on U.S. Highway 522 in Wayne Township, Mifflin County.

According to the report, Adam D. Smith, 34, of Newark, Del., was traveling with passenger Barbara A. Smith, 67, also of Newark, Del., in a 2017 Jeep GCH when they struck a deer in the roadway. The vehicle sustained disabling damage as a result of the collision and was towed from the scene. Neither passenger was injured.

¯Public drunkenness–One man was charged for public drunkenness following an incident that occurred at approximately 9:14 p.m. on Sept. 30 on William Penn Highway in Walker Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Clifford Marlin Trego, 69, of Mifflin, appeared at the Mifflintown Mart while under the influence of alcohol. Charges were later filed through District Court.

¯Disorderly conduct–One man was cited for disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred at approximately 1:02 p.m. on Oct. 5 on U.S. Highway 322 in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, troopers received a report of a male who was displaying a handgun while traveling on 322. David Muscalus, 22, of Hummelstown, was later stopped and cited through District Court.

¯Harassment/disorderly conduct–Two people were cited following an incident involving harassment and disorderly conduct at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 5 on William Penn Highway in Walker Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, a 48-year-old female, of Lewistown, indicated that a 71-year-old male, of Mifflintown, followed her while traveling on 322. She stated that the male followed her to Weis Market, where she exited her vehicle and a verbal argument ensued. She later said that the male pushed her. The male stated that the female was all over the roadway and he stopped at the Weis Market when the female stopped her vehicle in the middle of the intersection and began yelling obscenties at him. Both parties were cited for disorderly conduct following the incident.

¯Harassment–Two women were cited for harassment following an incident that occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Oct. 6 on Tuscarora Street in Mifflin, Juniata County.

According to the report, Cassandra Nichole Trego, 26, of Port Royal, and Lindsay Jo Cruz, 24, of Mifflin, struck a 21-year-old female multiple times in the head and face, causing minor injuries. Both were cited for harassment and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact PSP Lewistown.

¯Crash–PSP Lewistown responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 7:18 a.m. on Oct. 7 on Route 74 in Turbett Township, Juniata County.

According to the report, Benjamin M. Koncewicz, 43, of Landisburg, was traveling in a 2014 Ford Utility vehicle when he lost control of his vehicle while negotiating a right-hand curve on the slippery road. His vehicle exited the roadway and struck a guide rail before traveling back across the roadway and coming to final rest. No injuries were reported but Koncewics vehicle sustained disabling damage.

Mifflin County Regional Police Department

¯Scam–The MCRPD is investigating a scam that was reported on Sept. 26.

According to the report, a local resident received a letter from a fake administrative manager at a vault of a financial and security institute in Barcelona, Spain. The letter states that the person with the resident’s last name has passed away and there is money to be disbursed. The money would be confiscated by the “Bank of Spain” if the resident didn’t get involved. Residents are advised to not make contact if they receive a similar letter, since it is a confirmed scam.

¯Crash–PSP Selinsgrove responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:09 p.m. on Sept. 22 on West Market Street in Beavertown, Snyder County.

According to the report, Stephen A. Shreffler, 56, of Lewistown, was traveling in a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt when he fell asleep behind the wheel and crossed into the northbound lane of travel, striking a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country, operated by Paul A. Kuhn, 90, of McClure.

Pennsylvania State Police Newport

¯Crash–PSP Newport responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3:37 p.m. on Sept. 21 on Fort Robinson Road in Northeast Madison Township, Perry County.

According to the report, Charles J. Henry, 43, of East Waterford, was traveling in a 2010 Ford F250 when he left the roadway and struck a traffic sign and utility pole, causing disabling damage. The vehicle came to final rest in a field. No injuries were reported, but Henry was cited for the crash.

¯Crash–PSP Newport responded to a two vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:44 a.m. on Oct. 4 on Veterans Way in Saville Township, Perry County.

According to the report, Patrick J. Bryner, 18, of Port Royal, was traveling in a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado when he failed to stop at a stop sign, striking a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche operated by Bonita J. Derr, 56, of Ickesburg. No injuries were reported.

¯Crash–PSP Newport responded to a single vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:43 a.m. on Oct. 5 on U.S. Highway 22 in Greenwood Township, Perry Township.

According to the report, Todd A. Vanopynen, 49, of Milroy was traveling in a 2015 Ford Fiesta when he struck a deer crossing. Vanopynen sustained minor injuries and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
