USDA commodity food distribution to be held today

LEWISTOWN — Mifflin Juniata Human Services has announced that distribution of USDA commodity food through the TEFAP program will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. today at Salvation Army, 9 South Dorcas St., Lewistown and at Calvary Bible Church, 100 Calvary Lane, Lewistown (off the Burnham exit).

If supplies are completely distributed before 11 a.m., distribution may close early. Persons should bring their own box or bag for collection of food items. Participants are welcome to attend either one at their convenience, but may not attend both.

Persons eligible to receive food must meet the following gross monthly household income requirements:1 person, $1,508; 2 persons, $2,030; 3 persons, $2,553; 4 persons, $3,075; 5 persons, $3,598; 6 persons, $4,120; and for each additional household member, $523 a month. Participants of this program will be served without regard to race, color, sex, religion, nationality, age or physical disability. Photo ID and local address must be presented.
