LEWISTOWN -- Republican Deb Civitts was elected as Mifflin County Treasurer in Tuesday's general election, according to unofficial election results.
According to unofficial results, Civitts, of Belleville, took 64.5 percent of the votes, or 4,028 total votes. She will serve a four-year term.
Her opponent, Democrat Kendra J. Dunmire, of McVeytown, took 35.39 percent of the votes, or 2,210 total votes, according to unofficial election results.
Civitts is the current Mifflin County Treasurer and has worked with the treasurer's office for more than 15 years.
She also serves on the Brown Township Republican Committee, the Fish and Boat Committee, the Tourism Committee and the Convention Committee.
Civitts has two children, Kelly Strausburg and Brian Civitts, and two grandchildren, Nathan and Alyssa Strausburg.
