Sunbury & Lewistown Railroad exhibit coming to Beavertown Museum
BEAVERTOWN – Railroad history comes alive this fall at the Beavertown Historical Society Museum with a special exhibit on the Sunbury & Lewistown Railroad. This historic line once passed right through Beavertown, linking communities across the region.
The exhibit will feature intriguing railroad memorabilia, including a coupler invented by Beavertown native Joseph William “91” Klingler. Additional items have been graciously loaned by Darwin Aurand, making this a must-see for history lovers and railroad enthusiasts alike.
The museum is open to the public from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on these Sundays: September 7 and 28; October 12 and 26; and November 9 and 23.
Copies of Beavertown’s Snapshots in Time will be available with a suggested donation of $45. For more information or to get your copy, please call Karen Burns at 570-658-7385.
You’ll find the museum at 111 West Walnut St., inside the Beavertown Borough Building in Beavertown.
