The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.

• Thanksgiving meal takeout -- 10 a.m. to noon, Thursday, Calvary Bible Church. New Life Church is partnering with Calvary Lewistown to offer a meal to be picked up on Thanksgiving Day. Shut-ins can receive free delivery in Lewistown, Burnham, Yeagertown, Reedsville and Milroy. Dine-in is from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Calvary Bible. Reserve pickup or dine in meals by calling (717) 242-1481 no later than 2 p.m. Tuesday.
• Mifflin County PASR luncheon meeting -- noon, Dec. 5, Birch Hill Event Center, Burnham. Program will be MCHS Cantare. Cantare will perform at noon, followed by the luncheon. Menu: cranberry salad, stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetable medley, roll/butter, cheesecake with caramel and pecan sauce. Cost is $16. • Breakfast with Santa -- 9 a.m. or 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, Reservations required. No walk-ins. Milroy Hose Co. No. 1, 190 College Ave., Milroy. Call (717) 667-2388 no later than Dec. 4 for reservation. Menu includes bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast and beverages. Cost is a donation to help local children's Christmas.
• Sand tart cookie sale -- pickup noon to 6 p.m., Dec. 17, Decatur Fire Co. Cookhouse, Route 522 North, Alfarata. Pick up only. $10 per pound, $5 per half pound. Order at (717) 543-0921 by Saturday, Dec. 14.
