LEWISTOWN -- The Mifflin-Juniata Concert Association returns with six performances in its 2021-2022 season.
The all-volunteer organization has been brining world-acclaimed live entertainment to the area for more than 70 years. Each year, the concert association features an array of stars from all genres of music -- Broadway, classical, folk, pop and jazz.
Concerts are held in the Mifflin County High School auditorium.
Because the 2020-2021 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, association members who paid for that season will receive a complimentary full-season membership ticket for this season. Nonmembers who wish to join can pay $50 for an adult season membership at the door of any concert, or purchase a ticket for an individual concert for $25.
Students age 18 and under are admitted free.
In the event of school cancellation or early dismissal due to inclement weather, concerts will be postponed or canceled.

Let's Rock Broadway with The Diamonds, Thursday, Sept. 30
In 1957 The Diamonds released an instant million selling hit called Little Darlin'. Their many honors and accolades since then include three gold records, 33 appearances on American Bandstand, contributions to the American Graffiti and Happy Days soundtracks, and induction into the Vocal Group and Doo-Wop Halls of Fame.
The Diamonds continue to expand their audience to this day, performing in a variety of venues and settings worldwide. A major reason for The Diamonds' longevity as performers and entertainers lies in the diverse backgrounds of the individual members of the group.
The Diamonds' program will feature hits from your favorite Broadway musicals, including Jersey Boys, Grease, Mamma Mia and Motown.
Branden & James,

Branden & James are reinventing the rules when it comes to classical crossover music.
The duo bring the soulful timbre of James on his cello combined with Branden's emotional and powerful vocals, creating a sound that leaves audiences feeling moved and inspired.
The energy and fervor behind their music has a story to tell of their unique pairing as real life husbands. Branden had a successful music career prior to meeting Australian cellist, James Clark. Some of Branden's accolades include finishing as Finalist on America's Got Talent, appearances at The Metropolitan Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago and Los Angeles Opera, two world tours with the Twelve Tenors and two solo releases worldwide.
James brought to the mix his own share of musical accomplishments as guest cellist for Olivia Newton John, Idina Menzel and Bernadette Peters in multiple concerts. He initially came on board to music direct one of many charity concerts in which Branden was performing, and their connection was so immense they began to play together regularly.

Consisting of five world class musicians who have traveled the globe recording and performing on the world's biggest stages and with music's most renowned artists, The Black Market Trust capitalize on their experience and pedigree to deliver a sophomore album that manages to bring a new and exciting sound to 12 tried and true classic songs.
Merging their love of everything from The Mills Brothers to The Beach Boys, Sinatra to Lennon/McCartney, the band arranges lead and three-part vocal harmony lines to 12 of their favorite Great American Songbook standards.

The sound of Rodney Marsalis' trumpet has reverberated throughout the world. Whether playing baroque piccolo trumpet or interpreting works commissioned especially for him, his artistry has been enthusiastically enjoyed inside of the United States and in such countries as France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, England, Brazil, Greece, Rumania, Japan, Taiwan, China, and Korea.
Music critics have praised him from Fanfare Magazine, American Record Guide, Records International Catalog, and other international publications for his evocative interpretation, impeccable virtuosity, and beauty of sound.
A graduate of one of the world's leading conservatories, The Curtis Institute of Music, Rodney Marsalis has worked under the guidance of world-renowned conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Michael Tilson Thomas, Gerard Schwarz, James DePreist, Jesus Lopez-Cobos and Christopher Hogwood.
Marsalis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he began his musical studies at the age of six. When he was 11 years of age he began taking classical trumpet lessons with his cousin, Wynton Marsalis. Referred to as a "trumpet prodigy," his solo debut was at the age of 15 with the New Orleans Symphony. After having won various solo competitions, he received national attention at the age of nineteen, performing as a soloist with John Williams conducting the Boston Pops Orchestra.

Back by popular demand -- Sons of Serendip performed at Mifflin County High School in 2019 -- the Billboard-charting quartet won the hearts of fans and judges alike as finalists on America's Got Talent (NBC) with their ethereal and emotionally stirring interpretations of pop music, arranged with a unique blend of vocals, harp, piano and cello.
It was serendipity that brought the four members of Sons of Serendip together. Lead vocalist Micah Christian, cellist and vocalist Kendall Ramseur, pianist Cordaro Rodriguez and harpist Mason Morton met when they were graduate students at Boston University. But it was talent, dedication, and a desire to share their music with the world that rocketed the quartet to fame.
