Gonzalez signs with Lady Lion basketball
UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State women’s basketball head coach Tanisha Wright announces the signing of graduate transfer Enjulina Gonzalez to her 2026-27 roster. Gonzalez becomes the fifth portal addition for Wright in the off season. The seasoned guard arrives in Happy Valley after two seasons at Mercer, one at Miami Ohio and one at Georgia.
“Being able to sign a player with Enjulina’s skill is an enormous get for Penn State women’s basketball,” said Wright. “Angie is an intense competitor, who competes on both ends of the floor. We’re looking forward to welcoming her to Lady Lion Basketball.”
Gonzalez has a plethora of collegiate experience at multiple different levels across Division I women’s college basketball. Most recently, she spent her senior season playing for the Bulldogs during a run to the NCAA Tournament. Gonzalez played in 32 games, making one start throughout her season in the peach state. The Miami, Fla. native averaged 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds across her junior campaign.
Prior to her time at Georgia, Gonzalez spent her sophomore season at Miami Ohio where she played in 30 games and made 27 starts. She was impactful for the RedHawks in the 2024-25 campaign, producing 16.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest. In addition, Gonzalez logged nine performances of 20-plus points. She earned first team All-MAC honors in her time in Miami, Ohio.
Though she spent two seasons at Mercer, Gonzalez missed most of the 2023-24 season due to injury. In her rookie season with the Bears, she competed in 31 games starting in 15. Despite being a freshman, she averaged double figure scoring with 10.0 points per contest in addition to 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. The veteran guard posted a career high 34 points against Chattanooga.
Gonzalez graduated from Miami Christian in Florida where she helped lead her team to a pair of state titles, two regional titles and three district championships. She was a Ms. Basketball finalist in the state of Florida during her senior campaign.
