By TODD HEINTZELMAN Racing correspondent PORT ROYAL — The 2026 racing season kicked off Saturday afternoon at Port Royal Speedway. It was the first race of the new PA Posse Sprint Car Series and 38 cars filled the pits. Track promoters agreed not to race against each other during series races, so Lincoln Speedway was not racing sprints on Saturday. Port Royal will do the same when Lincoln hosts a series race later this year. WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Penn State Altoona women's golf team concluded The Ruckus today at Williamsburg National Golf Club. Penn State Altoona finished sixth place. Penn State Altoona compiled a team score of 468 in Sunday's round on the par 72 course, finishing the tournament with a two-day total of 939 to place six out of six competing teams. Drew University won the tournament with a total score of 657, Bridgewater College was the runner-up with 680, and Salisbury University rounded out the top three with 714. CRESSON --- Back from their spring break trip in Myrtle Beach and greeted by much more favorable weather in Cresson, the Mounties opened AMCC play Sunday with a tough doubleheader sweep at the hands of Alfred State, falling 20-5 in the opener before dropping a more competitive 10-6 decision in game two. DUBOIS, Pa. - The Lock Haven baseball team traveled to Clarion for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) West doubleheader to wrap up a four-game series with the Golden Eagles on Sunday. Clarion won game one 10-5 and game two was suspended in the third inning due to rain. After two scoreless innings, The Haven took a 1-0 lead on an RBI-single by Kellen Jackson.
