PFBC accepting applications for Clean Vessel Act grant program

HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is excited to announce the availability of funding through the Clean Vessel Act (CVA) grant program. This is a federal grant program administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that funds the construction, renovation, operation, and maintenance of pump-out stations and waste reception facilities for recreational boats. Junior pheasant hunt program set for Oct. 7-14

HARRISBURG — Junior hunters, between the ages of 12 and 16, who have successfully completed a hunter-trapper education course are eligible to participate in the Game Commission Junior pheasant hunt program between Oct. 7-14, 2023. While junior hunters are not required to purchase a license, participants must obtain a free pheasant permit to hunt pheasants during these events. HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking input from the public in surveying wild turkeys this summer. The Annual Pennsylvania Wild Turkey Sighting Survey runs through Aug. 31. Participation is important for turkey population management. Survey data allow the agency to determine total wild turkey productivity and compare long-term reproductive success within Pennsylvania and across states, as this is a standard methodology used across the country.
