Fishing derby
¯ The Juniata County Trout Club will holding the annual Bill Beward Memorial Trout Derby on May 13 from 8-11 a.m. Registration begins at 7. It will be at the Zook's Dam area of Licking Creek, 1.8 miles past the Mifflin ServiceMart. The Derby is open to children age 12 and younger and will be divided into two age groups. Trophies will be awarded to the top three fish based on size and time measured in each age division.

¯ 3-D archery shoots will be held on May 21, June 11, July 23, Aug. 27 and Sept. 10. Registration is from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Cost is $10 to shoot 30 targets. Children 12 and under shoot free. Crossbows welcome.

¯ .22 silhouette shoots start at 10 a.m. on June 25, July 23, Aug. 27, Sept. 24 and Oct. 22.
¯ Turkey shoots will be hald at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from Sept. 14-Nov. 16.
¯ Club meetings at 2 p.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month. To east end Blue Rock: From Milroy, follow signs to Reeds Gap State Park. Free camping available and kitchen is open during all events except trap shoots.

Juniata Archers
¯ Indoor 20-yard archery shoots are held at 7 p.m. Thursdays and 6 p.m. Sundays.
¯ Signups for three-person teams for an archery league are held at any of the shoots. The league shoots Sunday evenings.

¯ The Shade Mountain Chapter will meet at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Reedsville firehouse. New members are welcome. There is no meeting in May.
¯ Youth Field Day, Aug. 12. Youth ages 8-15 enjoy a day of outdoor education. They will receive instruction and participate in outdoor activities including shooting, trapping, fishing and game calls. Lunch is provided.
