MILTON -- Goals came in bunches for East Juniata all season long as the Tigers claimed four of the top 12 goal scorers in the Tri-Valley League. On Saturday, they never came.

After averaging nearly four goals per game during the regular season, the third-seeded Tigers were shut out by No. 6 Hughesville 3-0 in the quarterfinal round of the District 4 Class A girls soccer tournament at Milton High School.

Hughesville carried a 1-0 lead into halftime before adding two second-half goals to pull away and end East Juniata’s season.

Giada Good, Tori Morgan and Savanna Bruder scored for the Spartans, who improved to 11-7-2.

East Juniata finished its season with a 14-6 record.

The Tigers were outshot 9-5 and trailed 4-2 in corner kicks. Goalkeeper McKenzi Hart recorded six saves for East Juniata. Hughesville advances to meet No. 2 Bloomsburg on Tuesday.
